Emotional Intelligence, Empathy, Interpersonal Skills, Stress Management - Soft Skills

Updated: Jul 3, 2020

“Harnessing The Power Within”.

“Below narrative is my take of the learnings from the Mahabharata”

My dad used to tell me bedtime stories of his favorite characters like King Bali, Eklavya, Ravana, etc.

My Particular favorite was and is KARNA.

Karna the Mighty Warrior in Mahabharata was known by many titles; Sutaputra, Radheya, Angaraj, Daanveer, Vayusena, Suryaputra. The Pandavas feared him, Lord Krishna Adored him, the Gods respected him, his people loved him.

He had the Might, Power, Strategy and Arsenal to single handedly defeat the Pandav forces without the intervention of Lord Krishna.

Even after being cunningly deprived of his Kavach, Kundals and his ability to invoke the divine astras when he would need them the most; Karna was still practically invincible.

Do you think this power, might, arsenal & strategy is what made Karna loved, revered, admired and feared??

I think Not…… I say that Karna was a very Empathetic and Emotionally Intelligent man.

As a true disciple to his Guru Lord Parshuram, Karna learned and mastered the ability to control and manage his anger, hurting’s that people hurled at him, disgust, troubled mind (STRESS), etc. (Krodh, Ashanti, Peeda).

Only because Karna could control & Manage these, could he unleash the true power of his potential and also his hidden potential could come to peak power. This was what made Karna Humanely Divine.

Most warriors in those times did not harness these qualities. Their arrogance and selfishness were at peak.

We all have our set of Technical Skills and working tools as our arsenal, Our Position or Hierarchy as Power & Might, but unless we harness and learn the art of understanding people emotions, being empathetic, Managing Stress, & working on our Interpersonal Skills would we be able to reach great Potentials. Not only in businesses but also in family lives.

There are ways and Techniques to learn these. THINK ABOUT IT.
